Hes one of the best💜

Women are born with approximately 2 million eggs. By the time they have their first period, women typically have around 350,000 eggs remaining. We often think that because the ovaries only drop one egg (on average) per month that women only lose one egg each month. Unfortunately this isn’t the case. Women can lose up to 35 eggs per day!

We share these statistics with you to help give you more information when making your family planning decisions.

Cryopreservation is a great option for women in their 20’s who are not yet ready to start having children. A good rule of thumb is the younger the egg, the higher quality, the higher chances of a successful, and healthy pregnancy. Cryopreservation allows your physician to retrieve high quality eggs and freeze them until you are ready.

According to YourFertility.org, “PCOS is a complex hormonal condition which affects up to one in five women of reproductive age. Most women with PCOS have elevated levels of a type of hormone called luteinising hormone, which brings about ovulation, and reduced levels of a hormone called “follicle stimulating hormone”, which is essential for pubertal development and the function of women’s ovaries and men’s testes.

Women with PCOS also have an underproduction of oestrogen (“female” hormones) and an overproduction of androgens (“male” hormones). This causes tiny cysts on the surface of the ovaries.

Due to these hormonal imbalances, women with PCOS often have irregular menstrual cycles because they don’t ovulate or ovulate only occasionally. So women with PCOS are more likely to have trouble conceiving than other women.”

At FSAC, we treat a lot of patients who have been diagnosed with PCOS. With a treatment plan closely followed by one of our physicians, most women with PCOS are able to get pregnant.

The majority of women can be successfully treated with a short course of medication taken at the beginning of each cycle for several cycles.

If medication is not successful, you may be offered injections or given the option to undergo IVF.
